Harry Kane thought lead against Chelsea celebrations cut short

Harry Kane thought he'd given Tottenham the lead against Chelsea, until referee Paul Tierney cut his celebrations short.

England captain Kane collected a low cross from Ryan Sessegnson, before turning and firing past Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The only problem though was Tierney spotted a foul in the build-up to the goal.

As Kane controlled the ball from Sessesgnon, the striker put an arm on Thiago Silva's back before slotting into the back of the net.

That arm in the back was judged to have been a push, as Silva was sent sprawling to the floor.

Gary Neville though was left in disbelief at the decision, saying on punditry duty for Sky Sports: "That is not a foul. No chance.

"I mean look there's an arm there from Harry Kane, but that is not a foul for me."

And fans on social media agreed, as one fumed: "The game is gone if that’s a foul."

While another said: "Harry Kane has been robbed of a goal."

It's after Liverpool were awarded a controversial penalty earlier in their game against Crystal Palace, as fans on social media lamented both decisions.

FT: Crystal Palace 1 Liverpool 3

The fast-starting Reds moved nine points behind leaders Manchester City

Virgil van Dijk's soaring header and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's fine finish rewarded the Reds' first-half superiority.

But Liverpool looked edgy once Odsonne Edouard tapped Palace back into it on 55 minutes.

But Fabinho tucked home Liverpool's late penalty clincher after VAR intervened following a foul on Diogo Jota.

Jose Enrique urged Liverpool to bring Alexander Isak to Anfield

Ex-Liverpool star Jose Enrique has urged the club to splash the cash to bring Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak to Anfield.

Enrique, who won the League Cup with the Reds in 2012, has told his former employers to do all they can to convince the player to make the move to Anfield.

Isak, 22, has already spoken of his desire to play in the Premier League after declaring he wishes to play in England in the future last year.

Speaking of the ex-Borussia Dortmund man, Enrique told Freebets.com: "I love him so much. Age-wise and the player he is already, what he can become is the perfect style for Klopp.

"Tall, strong, quick, he has goals in him. He will be an amazing option for Liverpool. I know him really well, I watch him play all the time in LaLiga.

"They should have signed him before he went to Real Sociedad, but now he's there, Real Sociedad are the type of team that if you offer the right amount of money, the player will want to go, and he'll want to go to Liverpool."

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain out of the Carabao Cup

Liverpool have suffered a major injury blow with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain out of the Carabao Cup showdown at Arsenal.

Former Gunners ace Oxlade-Chamberlain was hoping to face his old side in the semi-final, second-leg clash at the Emirates.

But the midfielder has failed to recover from an ankle injury sustained in Sunday’s 3-0 win against Brentford.

This means boss Jurgen Klopp is without yet another senior star, with Thiago Alcantara and Divock Origi still out injured.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane continue to be away on international duty at the Copa Africa with Egypt and Senegal respectively.
