Man Utd defender Phil Jones is being lined up by Bordeaux to replace the exiled Laurent Koscienly, reports suggest.

The 36-year-old veteran, who spent nine years at Arsenal before joining Bordeaux in 2019, has found himself out in the cold at the French side.

And now the Ligue 1 outfit have identified Koscienly's former rival and United stalwart Jones as his replacement, according to L'Equipe.

Man Utd, Chelsea and Newcastle are fighting over the transfer of superstar Ousmane Dembele, according to reports.

Sky Sports report that the Frenchman is 'most likely' to join a Premier League club if a transfer is completed this weekend.

Spanish news outlet Marca have also confirmed that Dembele and his agent are now looking for his next club.

They say that it is 'clear' to the winger and his representatives that a move in his his best interests.

A loan would be a possibility if a permanent deal cannot be concluded.

Brighton have rejected a second bid for Dan Burn from Newcastle for around £10million plus add-ons.

Albion rejected an opening offer from the Magpies for the central defender in the region of £8m on Wednesday.

But with Burn turning 30 in May and having only 18 months left on his contract, Brighton would be open to letting him go provided the price is right.

That is understood to be between the £12-15m mark, and it is now down to the Magpies as to whether they want to pay up before the transfer window closes.

Fabrizio Romano tweeted: “Bruno Guimaraes from OL to Newcastle, done deal and here we go! Paperworks now signed in Belo Horizonte together with club director and his agents.

“#NUFC Medical completed in two sessions, yesterday and today morning. Contract until 2026. Fee: €40m plus €2m add ons.”

Manchester City are set to open talks with Raheem Sterling over a contract extension, reports suggest.

Sterling has attracted interested from both Barcelona and Real Madrid, and has previously said he would be ‘open’ to moving abroad.

But after a good run of form in December that saw Sterling score five goals in five games, ESPN claim that the club want to tie Sterling down to a new deal.

His current deal expires in 2023, but City are eager for him to pen an extension before entering the final 12 months of his contract.

Fabrizio Romano said: “Juventus are pushing to sign Denis Zakaria immediately.

"Talks ongoing with Borussia Moenchengladbach and Zakaria’s new agents in the last few hours.

"Meeting taking place now for Denis Zakaria-Juventus deal. Club confident to complete the agreement while Zakaria is keen on the move.

Premier League clubs have been put on red alert with Brighton reportedly willing to sell star midfielder Yves Bissouma this month.

The likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham and Aston Villa are all believed to be admirers of the Mali international.

The German shot-stopper has been linked with a move to Newcastle with Aaron Ramsdale the No1 choice in North London.

Ivan Toney apologised to fans

Ivan Toney has apologised to fans after a video emerged online showing him saying: “F*** Brentford.”

Brentford launched a probe on Firday, with a club spokesman confirming: “We’re aware and investigating.”

He tweeted: "I am aware of a video of me that was published on social media today, taken in Dubai where I have been on holiday during the winter break.

"In it, I used language that was unacceptable. The video was cut short and edited, but I have to accept the impact this has had and I realise I should not have put myself in that position.

"I have explained to the gaffer what happened and apologised to him but I also want to apologise to all Brentford fans.

"I respect the way you all support the team and I have to say how much I love playing for the club and for you.

"I'll be back at training next week, working hard to score more goals to win us more games for the rest of the season.”

Burnley have suffered a big blow in the transfer market after Dinamo Zagreb confirmed winger Mislav Orsic will be going nowhere.

The 29-year-old, who scored a hat-trick against Tottenham last season, was a top target for the Clarets.

However, a Dinamo statement read: "In recent days, great interest of the public and fans has caused the possible transfer of player Mislav Oršić to the English club Burnley.

"Following this topic, GNK Dinamo informs the public that the decision has been made that Mislav Oršić will remain a Dinamo player and we are looking forward to participating in the continuation of the season together with his teammates and contributing to achieving the goal of winning a new Croatian title."
