Brighton have rejected a second bid for Dan Burn from Newcastle for around £10million plus add-ons.
Albion rejected an opening offer from the Magpies for the central defender in the region of £8m on Wednesday.
But with Burn turning 30 in May and having only 18 months left on his contract, Brighton would be open to letting him go provided the price is right.
That is understood to be between the £12-15m mark, and it is now down to the Magpies as to whether they want to pay up before the transfer window closes.
